I am seeking to have this (see link below) tiffany setting recreated in platinum - have been told that the price is $3,500, with cost high owing to the detail work required for the milgrain edges. Does this price seem right, or is it high? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

I actually think it sounds a little low. When you have expensive melee like the square step cuts and high quality work, the cost increases. If you want a really well-made setting I would have leon mege do this one. His costs will probably be a couple of thousand more though...but this is just a guess.

Here is one similar that he made: http://www.artofplatinum.com/4images/details.php?image_id=328

He won't completely copy a design, but he will make it amazing with his artistic touch.

Thanks. The finished product I am after will probably be slightly more simple. Instead of the square diamonds on the band I will stay with round to match those on top. As for Leon, yes his work is amazing and there is a thread with detail of one his variations of this very tiffany setting.

There are only two people I''d trust to make that ring. One would be Leon Mege and the other Maytal Hannah. I do not think the price is low considering a plain Tiffany knife edge repro in platinum is around $1200 with no diamonds.

I am considering a sapphire in this setting, as a result I am working with The Natural Sapphire Company (Steven Bliss, Sales Director is very nice and helpful) - I was hopeful they would be able to create the setting.

Does anyone have any experience with them?

Kaleigh has a ring from them and she thinks it is great quality, but it is not a pave ring. I do not know if anyone here has a pave ring from them or not. But I still wouldn''t do it, personally. I''d buy the stone there and get quotes from Leon and Maytal. One specializes in excellent stones and the others specialize in pave settings. I''d want the best vendor for both items.

I had a quote from Leon Mege for a similar ring and it was $4500
