After our initial call we have been emailing back and forth a bit and she said that the price isn't negotiable. Is this true or not? Since she is aware that I'm a month away from making the purchase, I wasn't sure if she is willing to talk numbers yet.

I guess I'll have more leverage when I'm ready to make the order, however, I don't want to annoy her on price since I've asked already.

From my guess, she will be providing a quote for what I want. Hopefully I can do something after I receive a quote.

Did you mention PS yet? I know a lot of these vendors have PS discounts.

They may be less inclined to have bargain any because if its one of their diamonds. Ive heard people that are using virtual selections find 2 diamonds at 2 different online vendors and say "well why should I buy this stone from you..." and they an usually wheel and deal at that point, but harder to do when its their diamond and they know they will be the ones selling it, just to someone else, you know?

Yes I have but based from the emails I didn't get the impression that there will be any more discount than from the wire payment discount.

If you are really looking for the best deal out there then I say you are in a good position now. You arent looking to get it right now you said, so you can sit and wait for either them to find you one that might be cheaper, IE one that might be an I but face up like a G, or with an inclusion that could be hidden by a prong that might make it cheaper.

And of course you can shop around at the other PS vendors that do offer PS discounts.

Yes I agree. I'm not too worried. I'll just check their inventory from time to time until I see something I absolutely want. After reading the forums, I know there's a 5% PS discount towards signature diamonds but you won't be eligible for the 2% wire discount. So it's definitely a good thing. I'll mention it to Lesley once we both find a stone that works.

I'm actually excited. I have a good idea and know what I want. And if I gain more funds within this time frame, I can definitely get something slightly better!
