Oops somehow my post didn't show up.

My diamond is 0.8 ct rb ACA. I really love the look of halos but I'm scared that I'll start missing the classic look.

Help!

With what size diamond?

I should add: any suggestions of settings are much appreciated!

Here's a beautiful halo to give you an idea.

I think halos like this are a classic look!

May sound like a funny question, but what makes you want to go halo?

Is it just that you like the look, or is it that you're trying to maximize size?

If you'd like the halo, but you worry about changing your mind, then I'd go with a prong-set halo instead of a bezel set. Then if you miss the solitaire look, you can remove the diamond without ruining the halo setting. You can pick a simple solitaire setting for your diamond, and you can set a colored stone into the halo setting.

I really like the look of a prong set halo and I''m trying to achieve that "push up bra" look for my center stone. So yes, I''m trying to maximize the size. I used to not like halos that much but ever since trying on a delicate tacori halo, I just fell head over heels with it. I''m trying to see if it''s really "the one" since there''s nothing worse than buyer''s remorse so I''m trying to see other options just to double check it''s really what I want.

Thanks for all the replies so far!

I do think a halo can visually add so much to a stone. If you love it I think .8 is a great size to set in one. I love that Tacori you are talking about too. It is very delicate.

I say, stay classic. Maybe you''ll get bored of a halo for everyday wear? I love a halo, and have two haloed gemstone rhr''s. But I say stay timeless and classic for an e-ring.

Ditto. I have a halo RHR , as I love that look. But for an ering, I''d stay with the classic look.

I''d stay classic. If you like the halo look, but aren''t 100% sure about it, get a colored stone ring with a halo as a RHR. I prefer halos with colored gems over diamonds myself.
