Should I contact the vendor about the underside of my ring differing from the reference photo?

I received this custom ring a few weeks ago but hadn't taken a second look post-delivery since I'm waiting for an official proposal. I wanted to take another peek today and just noticed that the underside differs from the reference photo.

Should I contact the vendor or is this something that shouldn't be addressed since it is the underside? I'd like to keep a positive relationship in the event that I purchase from the seller again. I am unsure if this change should be addressed or should I let it go? I was sent a video before delivery but didn't really notice the underside as I was moreso checking the top facing side and band.

Want to add that the video was moreso showcasing the band and top as opposed to prominently showing the underside.

Finish on the rest of the ring was fine. I found the part I added the photo of less polished and nice compared to the rest of the ring.

As you can see in the photo, I was a little taken back with how uneven it was compared to the finish of the top of the ring.

Were you sent the drawings/CADs for approval?

If yes, does the underside of the actual ring matches the drawings/CADs?

Personally, based on the photo of the actual ring, I would not be happy with it as it lacks finesse and is too clunky and unrefined for my liking. All IMHO.

Thanks DK, I was not sent a CAD but sent a top and bottom shot of the design I wanted during email correspondence prior to purchase. Do you think the vendor would be "offended" that I reached out so late?

I hadn't looked at the underside of the ring when I first opened the box, just happy to confirm that the top design matched. The other day I took a sneak peek and put it on the first time, which is when I noticed the difference. Vendor is aware that I was waiting to submit a review until the official proposal.

I would message the vendor and send both photos. Advise that the ring is beautiful but you just noticed that under gallery of the ring isn’t as you expected ie the original CAD photo and you feel it looks rough and messy and could it be corrected to look like the earlier provided photo ?

It depends on the T&Cs of sale IMHO.

Not bringing the issue up until a few weeks after delivery could be problematic.

So you just want information? You don't desire anything from them? Or you just wan to lodge a complaint? (valid). I'm saying decide what outcome you want before you approach them.

Maybe the vendor doesn’t/didnt use cads and it’s not a casted design? It looks like the ring is made up via soldering findings together? I’m no expert - but that’s my guess.

Sounds like you sent them the photo you’ve shown here and maybe a few more of the original ring - and they sent you nothing except a “yes we can do that” ? Is that the case?

My opinion - a lot depends on what is normal/acceptable to expect, is what that vendor you used typically produces. Especially for projects similar to design in what you’ve asked for.

What do they show as their past projects on social media and website galleries? How are those finished out? That is the standard of expectations to hold the vendor to.
Especially if nothing about finish /construction is discussed prior to the project starting.
