Should I buy this Tacori setting? Seems kind of pricey...

Re: Should I buy this Tacori setting? Seems kind of pricey..

I completely agree with Enerchi! Thanks to all of the advice from members here, I have been very comfortable buying online from the US. I got a beautiful 5 stone 2 ctw diamond anniversary band from Whiteflash and it came in at half the price that I was quoted in two stores - one in the US and one where I live. It was such a great experience - particularly from the view of customer service - that I would have no hesitation in purchasing again. In fact, I am already planning my next purchase!!! Good luck with your decisions.

Thanks, unfortunately Tacori seems to be pricey all over the place, so it doesn't quite matter what vendor I go with for that setting. The only other options are get another setting or find someone who will make it for cheaper. I am waiting on a few estimates, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were around the 3000 mark.

If you ask ERD to do it in a 14k palladium white gold (to keep it looking white without rhodium plating) i would bet they could do it for closer to 2k than 3k.

Maybe you right. I have sent them a feeler and waiting to see. I thought platinum was the way to go, though? Regardless, if I go with gold, I could still get the Tacori in gold for a lot cheaper as well.

you will get people here that say platinum is the only way to go. I am not one of those though. Platinum definitely has its benefits, but if you get the right white gold, its got a lot of benefits too.

I dont know if tacori offers palladium white gold, but thats what i would go with. Some people can have a nickel allergy, so if you dont know if your GF does or not, then id just be safe and not get white gold with nickel in it. Palladium white gold you dont have to worry about that allergy.

Also, it stays white. Some white gold is is warmer than others. Palladium white gold stays whiter than other kinds, and 14k stays whiter than 18k. This is good because then you dont have to worry about replating it with rhodium. That can be a hassle. Just ask them to keep it unplated and you dont have to worry about it.

Its also cheaper! win! Plus, Im just a fan of gold. I like the way it wears and the way it looks.

Id call ERD today, they sometimes have issues with their website, but every time ive called they answer right away and are super helpful!

Plus if you go custom, you can ad a few personal touches, if she likes a more floral motif or likes the shank of one tacori but the head of another, or wants a surprise diamond in the shank or you wanna put personalized sapphires or something in it, custom is great for that.
