I''m shopping for a stone for a solitare tacori mount. I was looking for an E/F/G/H and no lower than an SI1. While I am new to looking, I was in a jewler yesterday and she showed me a stone. When she handed me her tool holding the diamond and I looked at it from the side, there were little black specs that I clearly saw. Are these inclusions? I''m trying to see what they are. I see everyone say cut is everything but trying to understand what the best balance is. What is opinion on this diamond?

Yes, those were inclusions. As for what the best balance is most of us go for cut here first, and then everything else depending on your personal preferences. And unless it''s a "mind clean" issue for you, you can probably safely go to a G or an H without noticing, so that is a way to save some coin if you want.

That stone would be a nice choice if you want an F.

Looks good, but a little too skinny the arrows, very long lower girdle facet, but that is just my taste.
