Sholdt retailer prices legit?

Hello, all! I'm new to the forum, but have been devouring all the Sholdt threads from the past years. I have a 1.006 F color SI1 diamond that I'm thinking about setting east-west in their solitaire Vashon setting. This site is from Sholdt's website, but the prices are much, much lower than what I've seen elsewhere online. Thoughts?

Those prices are really low! I wonder if they only sell the settings if you purchase a diamond thru them? That could be their catch.
Personally I went thru Pearlmans which is a highly recommended PS vendor. They offered the best setting price and were amazing to work with. My diamond was purchased thru JA.

Good thinking, that makes sense. Your set is GORGEOUS! I am going to call Pearlman's tomorrow to inquire about a fake work-up of the east-west oval so that I can be sure what it looks like. I might be traveling to Seattle in September, though, so could potentially sit at Sholdt's shop in person!

Thanks for the compliment about my set A whole year later and I'm still madly in love with it, it is just so me.
I would love to see an oval in this setting, there are a few E-W bezeled ovals on here, but I don't believe the settings are Sholdt.
Maybe Pearlmans can check with them to see if they have any archived pictures of an oval in that setting.

Just got an email from him with the quote today. $2K for platinum. I will let him know that the prices listed online are messed up. . I am also getting a request from Pearlman's--both sales managers were very helpful and wanting to work with me. I will let you know what I decide! I have a pic of an oval set east-west that Sholdt emailed him. Let me figure out how to post it here.

This is the image that Sholdt sent Buchroeder's out of Columbia, MO. I don't know how to rotate it! This was the only image--would love to have different angles.
