Shared prong band pain

Hi all—

I’ve been wearing my wedding set for almost nine years. It’s a six prong platinum ring with an eternity shared prong platinum band. The picture is in my profile. While the shared prong has never been exactly comfortable, it’s been fine. Over the past two-three months I’ve been having a lot of pain in my pinky finger on my left hand and it’s definitely made worse when I wear my shared prong. It’s almost back to normal when I don’t wear my band for a few days. I didn’t have an injury to my finger, it was more something that happened over time. Has this happened to anyone else?

I haven’t had it but I can definitely see how a small deviation/pressure from a ring over time would create a misalignment or problem with your little finger - it doesn’t have to be a large misalignment given it’s right at the base of your finger. In your picture, the shared prong looks to be a bit larger than your ering - is it or is it just the height of the stones that makes it look like this? Could you reverse how you wear them and see if that helps or size it down if it is a different size to your ering?

Thanks— yes, it’s about 1/4 size larger and I have sizing beads in the ER to keep from spinning. I’ve stopped wearing the shared prong totally and have a thin plain other band with it. I just love the look of the shared prong together. My hand feels incomplete without it— but not enough to be in pain!

You couldn’t resize your shared prong down at all? It does look gorgeous with your ering

Thank you— I couldn’t resize it but maybe sizing beads or bar. It bothers my finger so much that I don’t even want to try it on. sad :((

That’s really sad given how pretty it is! Sizing beads could help if they pull it down so it doesn’t stick out sideways?
