I have a bixbite that I purchased from a fellow collector. That's about it, but I know the Pricescope community has some true rare gems!

I know...It's more pink that red and opaque, but it's just so cool that it's from my home state and extremely rare! 20191216_221241.jpg 20191216_221302.jpg

@suzanne2 that is lovely. Can I ask about carat weight and clarity? Yours seems to be pretty clear (and so I assume more expensive) compared to most stones I have seen which are SI1 at best.
Also that watermelon tourmaline ring? What a stunner

2.38ct "Translucent with minute inclusions of liquid and gas" Iridescent Chrome Tourmaline (note from Vendor) American Thai Trading http://www.americanthai.com/index.html

I got this around 10 years ago or more. Scott had a few on his website back then, but I haven't seen any like them in years. It's a thin slice, like you would find in an opal. Pictures above are both sides of the stone and the vendor photo. I'd hoped to set it some day, but it hasn't happened. It is very iridescent in the right lighting.

That looks pretty sizable for benitoite. How big across?

How awesome is that...it’s such a unique stone. I didn’t even realize he was selling it.

Here's another crystal specimen:
Pezzottaite.JPG

I think I bought this specimen in 2003, and I think it must be from the very first discovery of this mineral, as it is labelled as beryl, before it was determined to be a new mineral species. I found out about it being confirmed as pezzottaite not long after I bought it. The weight according to the label on the base is 0.68 grams, or 3.4 ct.

Do we need a lab report to add here? Rare gems are hard to self-ID

My little benitoite collection (conveniently located in one place.) I have a few more small rounds I ordered. No idea what I am going to do with them but OMG the sparkle.

benitoite is like the best of that look when tanzanite is a bit silvery and very brilliant.
