My opinion would be to go down in clarity to get a bigger diamond. I would look at VS1s and maybe VS2s. ECs already face up kind of small so I think it would be worth it to look into it.

i don''t think i would be happy with a VS1 or a VS2 diamond. EC''s are very unforgiving of flaws..i know i can get an eye clean VS1 or even a VS2, for that matter, i''ve seen eye clean Si1''s, but that''s not what rocks my world.

knowing i can''t see a flaw isn''t what makes me happy - it''s knowing there aren''t any to be seen that blows my mind!

I''m not loving #3 becasue of the girdle and it is deep. So it will look small for its weight. Will you have a chance to see any? It is really inaccurate to judge ECs by their numbers. I would want to see IS images and pics at least. I would want to know if any have bow ties as well.

Yeah, I think I''d have to choose an emerald by looking at it. Can you post the pictures? I think VVS2 is totally safe and loupe clean...I wouldn''t pay for IF. I can''t see inclusions with a loupe in my VS1 either. But I do like high clarity, too.

this is actually the preliminary hunt - i have to tell the people with whom i am working which diamonds i want to have called in for the pix and scopes and analysis and such.

i was trying to narrow it down, since even covering just shipping it gets a bit expensive.

I don''t like #3 becuase of the thicker girdle. Or #1 either for the STH girdle all around.

Hi, just to make sure that you are aware (you may already know, but I just want to make sure!) - grading is done under 10X, so they do not report anything that can be seen at higher magnification - it is possible (actually probably likely) to have flaws there when you look at higher mag - I bring this up b/c you mention that you like the idea of no flaws to be seen - I think it is all relative as to just how hard you want to look - I know one poster here likes to look at his diamonds under higher mag - I just can''t remember who it is!
