Ooo, I can play! Here is mine, a green Tourmaline in an air gap halo.

And how it compares with my EC RHR:

Woohoo! Gorgeous! Thank you for adding this beauty. The ring looks very rich and elegant on you.
Has the beautiful setting been created by your favourite jeweller? And what are the specs of the stone and setting?

Great thread Acinom!

Adding my rhodolite garnet from Gene. Set in 14k Yg solitaire. I wish I’d made a three stone with this one, will likely reset at some stage.

Wow!! Where have you been hiding this beauty! What a gorgeous stone and the YG setting complements it so well.

Personally I love this setting on your elegant and slim hands. Definitely a stone with oomph that does not need any additions.

@Acinom, thanks for the kind words. I can't remember the spec of the stone, sorry! And yes to the setting being made by diamondmounts.

I bought this 1.95ct mahenge garnet from Gene last year, and set it in a pre-loved, two-tone gold temp mount from another PSer until I decide on something more permanent later.

@the_mother_thing : your stone and ring are stunning! What a vibrant colour. Gene surely selects great rough.
I actually love your stone in this setting.

Thank you. I like the stone in this ring as well, and feel the rich yellow gold color it complements the garnet nicely, but hope to come up with something that better shows off the 10-sided cut/girdle. But I feel really fortunate to have snagged that stone, as we all know how quickly they fly off his website when the email goes out.

I don’t remember who said this, but I remember another PSer saying that the more time goes by, the more she selects simple settings for her stones. She was tired of paying for halos and just wanted to spend her money on pretty rocks. Of course it’s a joy to see a jeweler’s artistry. But there are several simple settings here with gorgeous stones that show how well that philosophy can work too!

Thank you all so much for sharing your inspiration!

The stones that are selected and cut by Gene are all about bright and saturated colors! Like this stunning merelani garnet. @lilmosun has set her stone in a beautiful Greenlake Jewelry Works setting.

This is gorgeous!!!
Could you share the specs of your stone and setting?

Of what I can remember off the top of my head its a 3+ct Afghanistan Tourmaline. I recall it sat on his site for MONTHS. Its really gorgeous and so so bright so who knows..maybe it was just waiting for me :mrgreen2: I really think that it wasn't enough blue in the stone, which most wanted. For me, it was every week me looking at it and wanting it....lol

The setting is from LOGR, I never saw them carry it too much, but I had it remade in 18K white gold.

It just glows in pretty much all lighting situations.

This pink sapphire was my first colored gemstone purchase. I sent it off to David Klass and he said it was beautiful and sent it back looking like this. It has beautiful rutile needles under a loupe and has a bit of a shifty personality in different lights. It washes out a little in bright light and looks redder in the evening. The design is by Elle of the Gemstone Project.

I love it! Those shoulders are killing it!
Do you have any hand shots?

Thank you, Elle! I love the shoulders! This design would work for a lot of different sizes and shapes. I need to take a hand shot ...I am kind of pictures challenged.

One day this beautiful Montana sapphire turned up in Gene’s new stones. It was priced very reasonably because it has an eye visible healed fracture inclusion. It may have a trace of iron in it; you can see a bit of orange perhaps. I was looking for this color because it matches my sweetest cat’s eyes. It is very special to me. I had it set in this custom setting by Ivy & Rose.

31ADC5A8-D43A-40E3-BB80-84A1927FF895.jpeg My next Gene stone is one I bought secondhand, so I can’t take credit for the beautiful setting a fellow PSer selected. I feel so lucky to have this pretty Mehenge spinel ring!

Oh how I envy you for this one. I loved it but my piggy bank said no. That mahenge looks like the perfect pink and the butterfly setting is one of my favorites. You are a lucky girl. I hope you wear this one a lot.

Oh my goodness. That’s a perfect match for your sweet kitty’s eyes. Missy Loo looks like a sweetie pie.

I really think this one gets the most ogles from the other ladies. I have to stop myself from getting fifteen rocks all in bright pink!

Missy is a darling! We have a bunch of rescue kitties and most of them are sassy or spoiled. She is like the doting grandma to everybody. Thank you!

This cornflower blue sapphire from Sri Lanka was my biggest purchase from Gene. The amazing thing about it is that it is, as he said, “Beautiful in every light”. It is very clear and is gorgeous in sun as well as low light. I was confused about how to set it for the longest time (nearly a year). I thought about big sidestones but wanted the sapphire to be the focus. Then I walked into my local jeweler and he had this setting on display. I knew right away it was the one! It was like the Platonic ideal of balance and symmetry. This is a huge amount of bling for me, and yet it works for everyday. I am such a big admirer of Gene’s precision cutting and I enjoy this ring so much!

What a pretty Siamese <3 My last one, Charlie, lived to be almost 20. The Montana sapphire matches her eyes to a tee :)

I didn't realize Chrono's amazing cuprian was from Gene!

I didn't post this earlier because my mahenge garbet from Gene is in an inexpensive stock setting. Someday I want to collaborate with MissyBeaucoup, Elle_71125 and others on designing a custom setting :sigh:

The pink-putble stone throws amazing flashes of color and sparkle. IMG_20180603_173928.jpg
