setting info

I''m trying to decipher the abbrevs. on the setting for my diamond but I don''t know too much about the whole subject. I think it is white gold, but it says 18kt 950pt. What does this mean? Is there ever a white gold/platinum mix???

Could be that the head is platinum and the band is white gold. I see lots of platinum head/yellow gold band combos.
