Setting for warm cushion 0.7~1ct, to halo or not to halo?

I'm thinking of getting a warm / pale yellow cushion diamond (maybe somewhere between W-X or Y-Z), roughly 0.75 ~ 1 ct, but also want to start thinking of how I want to set it.

I'm torn between a solitaire and halo setting.. question for you lovely people is: to halo or not to halo?

I'm currently looking at two styles:

Solitaire with diamond melee on the shank

Simple halo

If it is a W, X, Y, Z and a pale yellow (not all diamonds down the bottom are pale yellow some are brown or grey etc) then I would set it in a yellow bezel, put a yellow cup underneath to enhance the yellow and put a white halo around it.

No halo unless you cup the stone.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm still learning about the terminology for jewelry etc. Do you mean a cup like the yellow gold basket here?




Or do you think a halo like this (http://www.diamondsbylauren.com/index.php/jewelry/semi-mount-ring-delicate-looking-halo-custom-made-so3039) would look ok if I did the halo in rose or yellow gold?
