Not sure I can describe this well. When looking at rotating diamond videos, sometimes I see what looks like a serrated edge within the diamond. Has anyone else noticed this? Wondering is this a polishing defect or something else? Thank you! @DejaWiz , @Karl_K

Top view or side?
What shape diamond?
What color?
Link a video with it?
If side what comes to mind is a girdle reflection.

Roughly 1/2 way down the side of the diamond and again near the culet are girdle reflections.

Is that due to cutting or photography? Something to be concerned about?

Internal reflections like a bunch of mirrors reflecting each other... absolutely normal and nothing to be concerned about!

Thank you both!!

Also, the girdle is faceted so that could be part of the reflections of "serrated edge" that you might be seeing.

Girdle finish has an effect as does the girdle size and pavilion and lowers angles.

@DejaWiz can you post a screen shot showing it from the video? im not on my computer.

Here's my wife's new diamond that shows the mirror reflection effect along the medium faceted girdle as well as the reflection about halfway down the pavilion quite well as it is slowly rotated (video link in my "surprise upgrade" thread):

Mlh, here's a better video of the diamond that you're asking about:
