Thank you!! Did you see anything in the $1200 range? Also can search myself if you have any parameters you recommend

No, unfortunately not. I used the parameters you stated, plus PS recommended depth range. I did mostly look at HPHT to more easily weed out potential material issues.

Thank you! If you don’t mind editing and removing the first link from your post. I have it saved and will likely purchase it soon, but don’t want anyone to snatch it before me lol

Edited! The links are in the quoted part of your post as well.

Hi everyone!

Thank you all for your help. I ended up purchasing a stone and sent it to Ashley for recutting. The stone has been recut, but I'm a bit concerned about the new IGI report. The new cut grade is only "Good," and the polish/symmetry are both "Very Good."

Can anyone shed light on whether I should ask for another recut to achieve a triple X? The stone is still with them in their office. Or is that not necessary for an OEC? Since it was custom cut, I was hoping it would end up being graded better than older natural diamonds, but I’m also not that well-versed in all of this.

@Lisa Loves Shiny and @Kim N I’d love to hear your thoughts as well!

Attached are pictures, videos, and the Sarine report

Not an expert but I think it's beautiful! I would trust your eyes and the cutters more than IGI's grade for this. If I'm reading the Sarine right, it says that you can't get higher than a "Good" if you have a Large culet, which you have, so maybe that's all it is?

I agree! The pictures and videos are beautiful, but I wasn’t sure what to make of the IGI report. I know for the older natural OEC diamonds, it's more important to see the stone and its performance in person, so I assume the same applies to newly cut OECs too.

I think it's beautiful. I pulled out my IGI report from my re-cut OEC and it has a cut grade of excellent. I'm trying to determine what makes mine different than yours. The report lists the culet as medium, symmetry as excellent and polish as excellent. The culet and symmetry being different with yours is not unexpected as this would take in account the style of the cut, and what Ashley was working with in regards to the original stone. The only question then for me would be the polish and why that was listed as very good. Perhaps that is just an overly harsh grade by the person grading the diamond?

If you have concerns I would call Ashley. I found him very personable and lovely to talk with. I personally would wait until I got the diamond in hand before asking for any changes in the cut of the diamond. An OEC is just like a fancy cut diamond. You rely more on your eyes than a report when it comes to cut.

So excited for you though. It looks so beautiful.

Old style cuts cannot be judge my modern round brilliant parameters so the cut grade is irrelevant. The polish should be EX though, IMO, on a recut.

I agree to call Ashley and ask, he's very easy to talk to! My recut also just has "good" for the cut, but it's 'perfect' to me!

It's gorgeous in the pictures and I hope you love it in person!

Hi @Kim N! Thank you again for helping me source a stone for the recut. I’ll make an update soon :)

I was wondering if you could help me source a 1.3 carat lab stone for another project? G/H color and clarity VS2 and up.

I've found one for you, though I had to open up the search to F color. If you're interested in an F, let me know when you're around.
