So, after my awful "maul" experience last week, I decided to actually *call* some jewelers in the area to see if they have GIA an AGS stones before I drive the girlfiend all around the county so we can see how sensitive to color she is. (And, no, I''m going to actually make the purchase online from a PS-trusted vendor, of course! : ) )
Harrisburg, PA is not winning any brownie points.
Now, these are actually non-chain jewelers this time that I''m contacting..and I begin wtih "Hello. I was curious as to if you carry AGS or GIA-certified diamonds."
The responses? Everything from "Um...I don''t know" to "What do you mean by certification?" to "Well we can get any of our stones certified" to "I can order them." to the jeweler just hanging up on me.
I think out of the 10 places I called, 2 of them carry them. On the advice of D. Atlas, I''m looking for "upscale stores" in the area, but either there aren''t many, or I''m having real difficulty finding them here!
Well, I''ll just have to hope those two places give us enough information to make a decision. ; ) If there''s anyone from south-central PA out there and knows a good place to look at diamonds, save me! : )
