Um, the search option/box i.e search forum for topic....it's really bad.
To enter a topic and be brought to screens with that particular word highlighted in pink wether or not it has ANYTHING to do with what your actual search is about is really really bad.
The old search before the "new pricescope" was much more helpful. I just entered Tiffany and Co and "found nothing because AND is not in the search" (small example) I just don't have all day to figure out EXACTLY what to type to find what I'm looking for. Just my two cents. This is SOOOO annoying!!!! Am I the only one that feels this way???

No. I, too, used the old search to gain valuable information which I used in the purchase of my stone. I've posted questions about the use of search since the change over, but received no help. For me it's no big issue since I'm no longer in the market for a purchase, but it's a huge trade-off. I've given up on searching for anything containing numbers.

Yes I agree the current search is terrible. For example I have a friend who is interested in the Tacori 2620. So I type in 2620 and it says there are no matching results. Really? Just... really, PS?

Agreed this should have been a priority to fix and yet months later still hasn't been improved. I reported this in the feature improvement section some time ago with no response.

I reported it a couple of time also. No response. Must really be difficult to fix. Too bad--it was sooooo useful to me.

I can't believe this topic came up! I was just trying to use the search engine, and it was unable to get me to the correct forum topics or any similar topic. It usually says that it can't find the words I put in. (I use to look up things ALL the time with the old set up), I really miss being able to read old posts that relate to a particular subject. I wish they could make it like the old way, while keeping the new modern twist. The new way is not as direct, and I miss the useful info I could gather from the old way. Is this something they are addressing, or is this the way it is now? Did they lose the archives of old posts? :((

I too have given up trying to use it productively.

I just google "pricescope" and whatever I'm looking for, with pricescope in quotes. Usually works - much better than the in-house search, at any rate.

ETA: HA_girl - it's not a problem of lost archives - they're all avaible if accessed from a search-site. I'd guess it's just really poor indexing.

Yssie, thanks for the info. I am going to try my searches like you said. :appl:

ITA. I often use google for my pricescope searches now too. If you type into google

site:pricescope.com [your search term]

it generally yields much better results - especially since you can use quotation marks on google, i.e. if I want to search "yellow diamonds" as a phrase. For example, typing site:pricescope.com 2620 (with no spaces between site:pricescope.com) it yields 406 results. Granted, several may be in one thread, but it's better than "no matching results" which is frustrating.

I feel better knowing I'm not alone!!! Look out google here I come

Hi Everyone,

I apologize for the poor search facility. It is something that I personally like to use, but I know it is not functioning the way it should.

The search functionality is very important to us, and it is on the top of our list. We have been investigating it. It is not something that has been easy to spot, but we hope to have an update for the search soon.

In the meantime, we have also been working hard behind the scenes to fix login issues, improve performance and add functionalities that have been requested for easier navigation.

Thank you everyone for your patience
