Wedding Save the Date help!

So save the dates are relatively unheard of in Australia but after reading about them on pricescope i actually like the idea so here''s my question...


What exactly should be on your save the dates...other than the date of course???????

Hello! I am an Aussie too and I think too that they are not very popular but they are definately a great idea!!! You want to make sure that your guests get a decent heads-up for such an important event.

My friends have just say something along the lines of:

Bride and groom and getting married in destination ( extra important if destination wedding) on date.

Please be sure to save the date.

Formal invite to follow

Or whatever else you want to say, just the basics are important - who, when and where, especially if a destination wedding.

They don''t even actually say "Save the Date" on them.

I''ll also be adding the url for our wedding website, so they can look up more detailed information if they like.

The essentials are your names, the date, and the city where it''s happening so people can make travel plans. If yu already have a wedding website that is nice too.

Another vote for the basic essentials (names, date, city), and I like the idea of a website on there too. Maybe a photo of you two if you want to incorporate that?

OH! I forgot to say that since we don''t have a wedding website and since I think we''re sending out more save-the-dates to out of town guests, I''m going to put a little extra slip of paper into the envelope with the info for the hotel where we''ve reserved a block of rooms and also both our phone numbers and those of our parents.

I would second everything that everybody said, but the website is really important to me, so I definitely want to add that. You need to be careful though and check the STD''s (save the dates) b/c a lot of them won''t allow you to alter the format. If you are really kean for a magnet STD, check out this site...
