My question is, if I find the same setting online from 4 different sellers, is it the same ring? I mean is it cast from the same mold? Im just thinking if they are all 14k white gold, why would I spend more for the same setting.

Does anyone know anything about this? Advice?

Thanks everyone :)

Depends if they are all the same branded ring or they just look exactly the same but were made by different manufacturers.

OK, thats actually what I was wondering. Can different manufactures make the same ring? I thought their may be a copyright or something. That sounds silly I know.

Of course they do, look at how many versions of the Tiffany 6 prong head knife edge shank they all make and copy. And btw no not all of these are created equal. Most are made in China and are thicker than the original Tiffany or so thin that they don't look right. Or they don't get the knife edge or the taper correct. Brian Gavin makes two Tiffany rings, a generic one and a number of versions of a better quality one that is amazing and looks like a real Tiffany product. ERD also make great Tiffany and Cartier look alikes.

So it greatly depends on things like where it was made, if it was cast, handmade etc all sorts of things as to the price of it.

Hi

If you could post the links on the forum of all four online stores, I am sure many would able to provide more help.

Could be a stuller (or one of the many other jewelry finding companies) setting that any company can order. Provide
Links and maybe we can give you more detail. Did you check out the weight of each setting to see if its the same?
These settings usually come without any pave in them so the store that order them can put in what they choose which
could be higher or lower quality so that's something to watch out for when you're looking at price differences.

A link or pictures will be helpful. If it is a branded item, then they should be identical. If they aren't, then there could be differences (diamond quality, casting quality, finish, metal weight, etc).

Here are a few... I know we arent supposed to post about moissanites, but one of the settings is on their site. I would have a diamond put in the setting just to be clear.

Looks like the seller you mentioned maybe buying from this website or buying from the same manufacturer?? Is the local seller's price significantly more expensive?

The local guy wants almost 4k for his ring and the center diamond is a .68 h color si2. I'm thinking without the center he still is way over priced.

What is his price for the setting alone? (if he will sell it without the diamond...)

I forgot to ask if you preferred the setting with the sapphires or diamonds/moissies? :))

It looks like a setting from unique settings of New York. GOG has a link to them on its site.
