So i finally got round to getting my bombe cocktail ring done.

I had collected some rare-ish stones in melee form over the years and didn’t really know what to do with them. I also had an unheated ruby which was a lovely colour but just too tiny to do anything with.

Eventually I decided to just throw them all together and make a bright and fun cocktail ring as I haven’t got one of those.

These are some of the stones.

I picked up the finished ring today. It’s BIG. And BRIGHT. I will probably wear it on my index finger with no competing jewellery as I can’t see it playing nicely with others!

I think the stones are quite matching with each other in terms of that HOT tone and hue. A very eye catching piece!

Lighting is a bit better here.

Now I need to buy something to wear with it!

My favorite colors together! This ring is perfection.

Very pretty! A fun summer ring---it would look gorgeous with an all-white outfit if you have a bag/scarf/shoes in one of the pop colors. I'd also add earrings with the same pop of color.

Wear white in the summer and black opera gloves in winter.
Looking at this just makes me happy.
Where on the ring is the bixbite?

Scattered amongst the pink sapphires. The bixbite are the darker ones. I only had 14 and one was cracked in setting (entirely to be expected given how soft they are).

It was a very tricky job apparently. The setter took two whole days on the pave work and the stones are held in place with tiny beads. It also had to be set in min 18k yellow gold because it’s a softer metal and less likely to damage the stones in setting.

Oh my Lord! Can I ask who did this ring?

It’s a jeweller in Dubai called Javahir. Best I’ve found to date. The quality of work is very good. I’ve had all my recent stuff set there.

Gorgeous ring! It reminds me a bit of de Grisogono. I adore multicoloured rings!! The colour palette of this ring is so perfect for tropical summer. I’m feeling inspired to make my own multicoloured piece of jewelry looking at this :D

Beautiful cocktail ring! Necklace and bangle to match?

Ha ha! You know me too well! I’ve already been musing on earrings and how I could get them to work together. I can’t bear that there is something in my jewellery drawer that doesn’t have a matching partner.

Gorgeous! Kudos on your design skills too.

Looking at your two pictures, I could never take a lot of stones and envisage something fabulous like that!

To be entirely fair I just threw all my stones and a bunch of inspo pictures at my jeweller and said “surprise me” so I can’t take any credit. I may well take this approach again!

So no one will be remotely surprised to hear that I just had to get a matching pair of earrings to go with this.

Pic from the bench - I collect Wednesday.

The earrings are diamond and pink and orange sapphire melee - so not completely matching with the material (ring was bixbite, spess garnet and pink sapphire).

Got them home at last. They took an age to set.

I like them so much I’m actually thinking of getting a pendant too!

....add a bangle too? Please :)

LOL! The setter would totally lose his mind over that I think. These took the best part of four days work apparently.

But it would be awesome wouldn’t it.
