Hi. I am about to purchase my first diamond to propose to my girlfriend. I have done a lot of research, and I suppose I am just wanting some reassurance from people with more experience that the diamond I am about to buy looks good on paper for the price. Thanks in advance.

Yes, I had the store inspect it and they assured me it is eye clean. Worst case, it isnt and I can return it I suppose (online purchase).

Do you think the price is right? Thanks

based off of numbers alone, looks good. You can cross check the price with the the PS database, unfortunately, diamond prices have really risen lately.

Why are 3 people, or even 1, mentioning recent price increases?
I can see mentioning expected future price increases, so the buyer can make haste.

People who are buying now, are buying now.
They don't need to know they should have bought earlier.
They don't need to be made to feel bad and I doubt the OP has a time machine. ;-)

Kenny, true but when OP is asking is it a "good buy" I just give them facts on what has happened. They can pull up the PS database to see if they "think its a good buy" right at this moment, it could very well be that now is a "good buy" or a good time to buy, if they wait too long they may feel otherwise?

ETA: my use of verbiage is not to make anyone feel bad nor did I feel I came across that way.
