Hi All - thanks for all your help on the last two rounds of CADs.i received the third round last week and couldn't be any happier. ERD was so responsive and addressed all my questions. I hoe you agree that this round of renderings look great. I'm keeping a slight taper (2.3mm to 2mm to 1.8mm) because I like how it looks. I plan to get a band to match that probably 2mm wide. I did decide to keep the melee in the donut because I like how it looks from the side. My bands won't sit completely flush so I'm not worried about them rubbing up against each other.

Love to hear your opinions.

That looks great! The halo shape is SO much better!

I am a little confused about the diamonds on the doughnut, though. You will have to use a spacer band if you keep them because they will scratch up the sides of your wedding band. That part just really isn't going to be seen on your finger which is why some of us recommended removing them.

The only other thing I notice is that there should be no gaps at all between that diamond and halo but I can see some gaps in the CAD.

Diamondseeker2006 my assumption is my wedding band and e-ring won't sit flush because I have a donut which would minimize the two rubbing up against each other. I had diamonds on the donut of my original e-ring and never had an issue. Providing the two don't sit flush do you still think I should remove them?

As for the spacing I completely agree and did speak to ERD about this concern and they assured me there will be zero airspace with minimal spacing between the melee. I absolutely don't want a gap so please advise if you think I should still be concerned.

Thanks and happy to hear you agree that the shape looks better!

It really has nothing to do with the rings sitting flush. It is just that the wedding band should be touching the doughnut unless the ring is set really low and the wedding band is going to hit the gallery of the ring, which is not good. Hopefully the wedding band IS going to touch the doughnut, because I wouldn't want the gallery to be the place that the wedding band rubs against. It's just that smooth metal against smooth metal do less damage than diamonds rubbing against smooth metal. But really, you probably would just have to have the wedding band polished more often.

Thats good that they addressed the air space issue. I would have to let someone else who has worked with them say whether they think the CADs should be adjusted.
