I''m trying to find the setting of my dreams, and would LOVE your suggestions! I''ve been searching and searching, but I just can''t find the one. =(

Budget for the setting= $1500

What I like: thin bands (3mm or smaller), double prongs, platinum, accent diamonds, low maintenance, elegant, romantic, antique-looking, comfortable, not easily damaged, ability to resize in the future and I want the wedding band to sit flush. Minor amounts of filigree engraving is nice but not required. I also like small amounts of milgrain, also not required.

I''m setting a Regent cut diamond 0.91 carats that I am buying! Think modified square H&A cut similar to a cushion.

Examples of settings I like-

https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/ring-completed-pics-and-acknowledgements-included.34326/ This is so pretty! I even like the pink surprise =) (But it is not double pronged, probably can''t be resized, etc)

http://www.knoxjewelers.biz/index.htm?crn=203&rn=1535&action=show_detail A tad too much engraving for me, and they don''t sell settings unless you buy the diamond from them

https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/ritani-rings.22547/ This is really pretty, but I need resizing ability, and this is also probably too expensive =(

https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/fancy-color-candy.15041/ I like her saturn setting, but most likely cannot afford =(

https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/new-plain-novo-band.85647/

https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/scintillatings-gog-and-leon-mege.39139/

https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/new-10-stone-right-hand-ring.13432/

I saw a pretty platinum ring with 8 small prong set diamonds on the setting, and I liked that look.

I really like MM''s torchiere setting with hidden diamonds, but I can''t do 6 prongs on my squarish shape I think.

I would LOVE your suggestions!!! I''m kind of at a loss as to how to find a gorgeous setting within budget! =(

Thanks a bunch! =) I looked at that one before and thought it was pretty. =)

But the site says "This setting will not be shipped without a diamond set in it."

And it also looks like the diamonds go all the way around so it can''t be resized =(

Who did you get your diamond from? I''m pretty sure Whiteflash will set stones from other vendors! I''ll keep looking....I loooove all the links you posted.

I got my diamond secondhand =)

ooh, you must have similar taste to me! =) I''ve seriously searched for like ..... a month. DILIGENTLY and not found "THE ONE" haha.

I like this look too:

PS I love your rings in your avatar =)

I think you can send you regent stone to WF for them to set it.

.90 is a little small for double prongs unless you like the look of a lot of prong? Have you seen a double prong in person under a carat? I like your choices though

I just ordered this Scott Kay setting from Pearlmans.

It was under $1000 in Palladium, and in your budget in WG. Not sure on the platinum though. I know for a fact that they are making it to the dimensions of my diamond - I would think that they could make it suitable for your stone!

And my stone is a .75 and I'm doible pronging it.

Yeah... helps if you attach the pic...

Oh really? I''ve seen double prongs before in person, but not on an under-1-carat, you are right! I didn''t think about this, good point!

OOh! I kinda like it! You have great taste. What a good choice, I like the surprise diamonds too. Do you know the width of the band?

I might need a few more accent diamonds, but, it''s VERY PRETTY!

And.. when do you get this SHOW ME PICS (pretty please)

Good to know if I end up choosing a WF one! =) thanks!

The band is 2.5mm and tapers towards the center stone. I know it''s not super blingy, but it sure is classy (IMO). And not to worry - I will plaster pictures all over creation when I get it back!!!

Ooh, the band''s a good width too! =) I am liking it! It''s okay if it''s not super blingy- it IS classy!

geckodani, you have quite the ability to figure out what I like! I like all the rings you showed me and have looked through all of Knox''s designs!

The only thing is- it seems mostly to be offered in white gold only, and to have it in platinum, they have this policy of not doing custom work for you unless you buy a stone from them from what I understand?

(THANKS A BUNCH!!! I do appreciate the help you are giving me very much!)

Yep, you surely can !
I sent my GOG RB to WF to be set into the Legato. It doesn''t have to be one of their diamonds..I second the vote for this one.

Thanks for the info!

I am planning on stopping by antique engagement rings in NY when I go there just to check it out!

No, they''ll do platinum in most of their designs - just email Brian. They will also set your diamond, as long as it is certified.

As for the settings -I just tried to pick stuff I would like if I wanted accent stones, LOL!

Found this in the whiteflash gallery:

I think I will need to contact whiteflash! It''s custom though right? =( custom work is a little out of my budget.....

Just popping in to say that this is an awesome thread! I''m also in search of a double pronged, but not too blingy, setting, and I love all the ones you guys have found so far.

On thing to consider is whether WF will even make a double prong setting for the stone size you have in mind. I have been talking to them about double claw prongs, and was given the impression that they thought it wasn''t feasible/safe under a certain size (they said they could do it if I went with the 1.4 c, maybe not with the 1.3 c. -- huge bummer for me cause I have my heart set on double prongs!!). I''m going to learn more when I talk to them again on Mon., but just thought I''d throw that issue out there too.

good luck!

Odd. Scott Kay/Pearlmans is setting my .75 with no problems.

You never know until you ask! They might be able to just make you a custom head to go on one of their existing shanks as well. It''s worth asking!

Lovinsparkles, thanks for your input!

Geckodani, you too! =)

I will start calling around- I like Scott Kay''s work at Pearlman''s, too! It''s good stuff =)

I''m also going to start going into B&M stores to figure out what I like (in person).

But just for kicks here''s a pretty setting-

http://www.crossjewlers.com/style/austen.htm

I admit it, half the appeal is in the name of the ring

Sounds so romantic though!

Hi my Regent is set in a Vatche 3 stone truffle...with sapphire side stones...mine is 0.90

There used to be a thread with regent pic in it although it is so old I suspect it is archived...

www.dvatche.com

GOG can get them or can set it for you in another setting
