I'm confused because there is an incredibly wide price range for diamonds even with all search criteria (carat, cut, clarity, color, fluorescence, symmetry) being equal, and I'm wondering why. Is a cheaper diamond always inferior to a more expensive diamond in this situation, or are there bargains to be had (diamonds in the rough, if you will)? Should I include a price filter to remove the lower end of the spectrum that I definitely wouldn't be interested in, and if so where is that price floor set?

Thanks I'm advance.
