Well, there is a big difference between the two styles. The Ritani is a classic micro pave look with teensy weensy diamonds. Bill at Pearlman''s has desribed them as the "tanks" of the pave world, because they are almost indestructible. At the same time, everyone who sees them marvels at how delicate they are.
In contrast, Verragio is a BIG BLING look. The diamond in the halo look to be 3-4 point stones, so we are talking about some serious wattage. I do really like the verragio and admire the rings of the PSers with them often.
So which look are you after? Subtle sparkle, bugger bling? Of course, both are pretty blingy.
But that said, I adore that Ritani ring. I tried on a similar look once and it is a whole lotta sparkle and a whole lotta finger covereage. Awesome.
Glad to see you moving ahead with a reset that you want! I recognize your ring from the other thread.

I have not heard of anyone having bending issues with Leon, but of course you should do what you are comfortable with!Date: 3/20/2010 1:41:31 AM

I have looked into it and LOVE his rings, sadly, I don''t know why, but I CAN NOT do platinum. My initial ring was platinum and had to change because I vent it so bad it wobbled and I need a size bigger bc I turned it into an oval![]()

Oh, and yes. Most people don''t have issues with platinum, however, I had a Kirk Kara piece that I bent so much that my jeweler could not flatten out, so I had to exchange it. He explained to me, that like some people remove rhodium from gold rings than others, some made platinum more pliable than others. who knows. all I know is that I don''t want to go through all the resizing I had to do with the kirk kara.Date: 3/20/2010 2:03:07 AM

Yes, I am not concerned about the issue. I plan on getting 18K gold. What project do you have in mind??? Maybe I can steal your idea! And the setting is not hard to get, I got it at Shane Co. Haha.Date: 3/20/2010 3:56:59 AM

As a daily Ritani wearer who is Not Nice to her rings, my e-ring is a bit out of round after four years of wear, and the center stone had to be tightened twice.
The pave has not moved, and it shines like mad in the sun...
Oh and I WANT your old setting. That would be yummy for a colored stone project I have in mind.
LOL! Another tip: If you click on a users avatar (the picture they use for ID) then you will go to their informatin page. There right under their name you have the option of clicking a link that says "All topics by this user". It will bring up all their threads and you can find their ring pics usually in Show Me The Ring.Date: 3/20/2010 2:45:01 AM

Thank you so much!!! You are so helpful!!!! I have been trying to find your ring to see it and can't!Like I have said, I am technology challenged, explains why my 46 year old mom is afraid to touch a computer. hehe. You are so helpful, I appreciate all the time you put into us novices. Have you considered writing a pricescope for dummies?? hehe.![]()
Thanks, I do know that I could get it cheaper, but my husband is a freak and WILL NOT let me do anything online. Only at sit down jewelry stores. So far, my jeweler has been able to do pretty ok. He gives me 5% off since he knows I am a frequent customer hehe. He even set my stone for free on a setting I got from shane co, whom I went to only because he advised me I would get what I wanted much cheaper there than he could offer me.Date: 3/20/2010 2:10:31 PM

Before you buy, be sure to call www.pearlmansjewelers.com for a quote. Ask for Julian or Bill. They are a PS vendor and give the best prices on Ritani that we have seen on PS, and they give a PS discount, but only on the phone. I would also call www.since1910.com about the verragio if that is your choice since they are also a PS vendor and will give discounts too most likely.
