Risk in this BG Blue? Order to be submitted

What is the concern? That the strong blue will cause milkiness or haziness? If so, don't worry about it. If the fluorescence was causing that, it wouldn't have made the signature line. If the concern is that it will look bluish in sun or under uv lights, it can. That's all a matter of personal preferance and tolerance. We can't answer whether you will like the effects of fluorescence, but this stone won't have the unwanted effects of milkiness or haziness.

Something to be aware of ...
If you ever decide to sell it you may have a harder time.

Much of the public, and I read the industry in USA, is not well-informed about fluorescence and still always consider it a negative factor, even when the rare milky/oiliness is not present.

Unfortunately ignorance is easier and more rampant than education.

Thank you very much for your comments! A bit nerve wracking spending this much, especially not having to see it in real life. Yes I mostly concerned of the milky/haziness, as I have not seen the diamond personally and I am just fully trusting the BG Blue label. I had a different BG Blue selected at first but with only "medium blue". I don't have any intentions to reselling it (or I sure hope not!).

Yes, granted, of course.
I'm talking about what may happen if a buyer of a very strong, strong, or even a medium fluor wants to sell, not upgrade.

I sold a Med Blue fluor on consignment but it took over a year, perhaps the fluor is why.

Thanks again for all your comments and link! I made the plunge and decided to stay with the very strong blue BG Blue signature diamond. I hope she likes/don't mind the blue that she will see in direct sunlight!

In this case the OP can sell the stone back to BGD... ;))

Huh?
BGD treats this one stone in this thread differently than all others diamonds he sells?
Or are you saying, BGD has a better buy-back policy on all BG Blues than other on diamonds he sells?

Hope you're not implying he buys back his Blues for 100% of what the customer paid and offers this for life, or better yet will even pay more if prices go up?

What exactly are you saying DF?

Let me be clear.
I'm not putting down stones with fluor.
I think they're cool and it's also cool they are cheaper.
But enough of the industry and the public are ignorant enough about them to make them sell for less, and this ignorance may make them a bit harder for a private party to sell one.

I'm not criticizing the stones with Fluor.
I'm criticizing people who are ignorant that blue fluor is okay as long as a diamond does not have the rare transparency issues.
The OP asked for risks, and additional challenge selling in the future may be considered a risk.

If the OP knows the stone will never be sold then this customer can ignore this risk.
But PS is a diamond education site and others will read this thread so I believe it is appropriate to mention this factor.

The buy back policy that Brian offers is only good for one year after the purchase date. Granted, he may still be interested in buying it back after that time but there are no guarantees on what he would pay for it.

I have a BGB 2.0 I VS2. I love it.

Thanks again for all your feedback/link for flouro!

Overall, BG was great. It was a bit hard having them go ahead and remove the horizontal bar from the truth head. They were really reluctant to shave the band and prongs as thin as possible. My girl definitely likes it simple and thin...but in the end I am happy! Here are the glam shots :)
