I am trying to find examples of rings that - on each shoulder just to the left & right of the center stone - have angled shoulders w/stones. In other words, when you’re viewing the profile of the ring from a north/south orientation, you’d see stones set sort of veritically and angled down.

I’m looking for inspiration for an idea I have, but have no idea what terms to search for to even try to find examples. Anyone know of something along the lines of what I’m describing?

TIA! :wavey:

If it helps to understand what I’m talking about/looking for, here is a ‘rough’ sketch; the ovals w/red arrows are what I’m talking about with angled shoulders w/stones.

Are you trying to create something like this? I just googled "diamond ring emerald cut with marquis"... Not very creative but I found some!

Not exactly but thank you for looking! Those seem to angle toward the east/west direction (sides of fingers). I’m looking more for stones that angle vertically north/south toward the knuckles.

See how the shank of this G&Co ring is angled toward the north & south view? That’s kind of what I’m talking about but not pave; rather, more like accent melee set on that same angle in that same (circled) area.

Articulating this is so hard and finding examples, even harder. :wall:

Maybe this will help describe what I am hunting for:

The stones with red arrows would angle or bevel downward a bit toward the north & south sides of the ring.

Here’s another rough mock-up trying to show what I mean. In this case, the stones (w/red arrows) are rounds, but they angle/bevel down on the north & south sides of the ring’s shoulders.

I believe what you’re looking for are “inverted side stone” rings.

Thank you; I tried a quick google search using that term, but that didn’t turn up/return what I’m looking for.

I remember seeing a ring somewhere a couple years back that had this type of shoulder, and I’m combing through all my usual places to try and find it because I can’t seem to draw it right that conveys what I’m looking to do. :wall:

That was the search criteria I used, and I found that image. I’ll continue searching; perhaps “reverse-inverted” will come up with more...????

Here is the closest thing I can find. Imagine those top stones are not there. The bezeled round stones are what I’m talking about, and those are angled kind of how I’m looking/thinking about.

OH i get it now!So youre sort of looking for something like a knife edge with stones inset on either side of the edge and angling down towards the knuckles on either side. it sounds like an antique style

similar to this maybe?

What you described IS what I’m talking about - YES! :appl: I’m not sure that ring from BE marries up to that description though, as the accent melee are still more flat on top of the finger vs. angled down on the north/south sides of the ring shank.

YAY! Definitely not exactly what you are thinking but kinda close when you look top down. I could've sworn i've seen something similar too but i can't find anything. I looked through Maevona, Beverley K and Greenlake Jewelry.....
