Ladies, I live in part of US that requires winter gloves, and I'm wondering what is your solution to wearing engagement rings with winter gloves? Do you look for oversized gloves that can fit your ring or do you remove it with gloves?

I'm from Quebec Canada and I know winter! LOL

I don't remove my ring, I just turn it until the head will be inside my hand. No problem! :naughty:

Hope you can understand cause my english is pooooooooor! 8)

Try flipping your ring around so the stone is on the inside. I find that helps prevent the prongs from catching on the gloves :)

stci.. I'll top that with I'm from Winnipeg Canada.. aka Winterpeg :loopy: I've already had to wear gloves and have had no issue with my ring. I guess it depends on the size of the stone and how high the setting is. Mine is 1.31 RB and 6ish mm high.

We must have been posting at the same time - I didn't realize you had beat me to it! :P

ETA: Btw, I've spent the last decade in Montana, Boston, and Chicago. Don't think it'll beat you guys for cold in Canada, but hey, comes pretty darn close!

Hello Sweet Lady for Winterpeg!

I think this method could fit with normal ring size but there are always abnormal ring size in US. some Ladies had the biggest diamond I ever saw in my life! Soooooooo beautiful!

Mine does stick out quite a bit (a little over quarter an inch). I don't know if turning the ring would completely fix the problem. :\

Wear mittens instead? You might do some prong damage with gloves as the fabric might catch on them or simply wear them a bit over time. Turning your ring around is okay, but either way there is some risk.

I flip mine into the crease where the finger meets the palm, too, and I've never had any problems.

sorry for the thread jack, but I saw stci post- have been praying for you...please update your other thread!

so sweet of you to remember me. I am still waiting :( but hope to have something this weekend!

cut a little hole on your glove... ;))

I get teased by my husband for this but I wrap a paper towel around the ring and tie it kind of in a knot and then put my glove on. It doesn't get snagged at all.

This is what I do and I also wear gloves that are a bit less form fitting to make it easier. I love mittens as they really keep your hands warmer than regular gloves.

I don't mean to gloat, but man am I glad I am in Mexico for the winter and not frosty freezy Pittsburgh! I would turn my ring around too.

This is one of the few perks to being here, so let me bask in it for a moment.

I like the sweater-like knit cheapo gloves that are like $2 or $3 in supermarkets. They are very stretchy and no problems fitting them over a ring, so you don't even have to think about it, which is nice. (My kitty Rat steals gloves constantly so no expensive gloves for me... he always snitches one or two a winter and then chews on them obsessively... so even if you find it again he's, erm, claimed it thoroughly.)

I never really noticed a problem, but then again, most of my rings sit lower on the finger.
