The obvious answer is, it should fit. However, I know a ring my partner has is size 8, this one is however too lose. Now I am wondering whether I should take half a step down to 7,5, or take a whole step to 7.

What is 7 is too tight? :rodent: Is it easier to adjust a ring that is too small, or one that is too big?

Depends on the style of the ring and the shank. Micropave is not easily sized. A plain shank is easier.

Is it a plain band or does it have diamonds on it? How wide is it? Keep in mind a skinny band will fit looser than a wide one.

If there are no diamonds on it, it doesn't matter which direction you are going. If there is delicate diamonds on the shank, going up half a size is a safer bet than going up.

I'd said if all else is equal, it'd be easier to size down than up. Sizing down should cost less because you're taking away metal (instead adding). You'd also have the options of adjusting the fit slightly with sizing bars/beads.

I have not decided on the bank yet, but it will likely have some diamonds on it (but not covered in diamonds).

To clarify, in your last sentence you mean sizing down would be easier then up? ( so rahter buy too big then too small?

Not just size but mm of shank has to be taken into consideration.
