Has anybody ever had the band on a ring shaved down? What was your experience like & can you show me before / after shots? We're you happy with the results?
I am *thinking* of having the band thinned on my solitaire. I can hear you all letting out a big sigh after all the trouble & expense I have been to having this setting custom made for the third time, but in the heat of summer since having my eternity ring re-set at New Year, the rings are strangling my finger. They are all sized the same & get very loose in the cold, so making one of them bigger isn't an option. Altogether they measure 8.75mm. The eternity (3mm) is full so can't be touched, my wedding ring (3mm) is sacred so can't be touched, but the band on my pear tapers from 2.75mm underneath to 2mm at the top. Should I have it shaved to 2mm all the way around to allow more finger breathing space??
