Hello all,

After much thought and considering, I am seriously considering purchasing a ACA0 solitaire from Brian Gavin. The thing that worries me most about making a purchase over the internet is the ring size.

I know she already owns a size 5.5 ring that she sometimes wears on her right hand "ring finger". This ring is lose(it can easily spin). However, she says she has a great deal of trouble getting any smaller sizes over her knuckle.

Would a right sized right ring finger be a good indication of size on left hand "ring finger"? (Both of mine appear to be of a similar size =-)

Anyone else ever have any knuckle troubles? Or is it possible she has never had a ring properly sized?

If you have any thoughts or shared similar past experiences, your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Everyone is different.

My right hand is my dominant hand and my right ring finger it is almost a 1/4 bigger than my left hand ring finger.

If your setting is sizeable, I''d get it in a 5.5 and just size it later if it''s a little too big.

Ring sizing is almost always about the knuckles. If you’re going to be guessing, just expect to guess wrong and plan on resizing it again later. Most designs make it pretty easy and I"m sure Brian is prepared to accommodate you. If you don’t have to, count it as luck rather than the reverse. That said, most right handed people are about ¼-1/2 size larger on right hand. Lefties are the opposite. It’s much better to err to be too big rather than too small so my usual advice is to go for the 5 ½ since you know it’ll fit but you might go for a 5 1/4.

You can get either sizing beads or a horseshoe/butterfly sizer put in the ring to prevent it spinning and still allow room to fit over knuckles. Some people do have fingers with wider knuckles than anywhere else, so that's a pretty good compromise between fitting over the knuckle and preventing spinning. So I'd probably guess 5 1/2 for your girl and then get either the horseshoe sizer or the beads to keep it from spinning after she's tried it on.

I just got sizing beads put in one of my rings for the first time and I'm definitely a convert. I'm used to rings spinning a lot on me and now it never does- it's great and you really don't feel them at all.

I would get a 5.5. My left hand is smaller than my right but I wear the same size on both since I put my anniversary band and ering together.
