Ring reset questions- what to do with original?

Hi again- a challenge I run into with resetting my engagement ring is how to get the value from my current setting. I do not wish to return to the jeweler who made it for several reasons but I cannot afford a new setting outright.

What are my options? Should another jeweler be able to reuse the materials I.e. 100+ pave diamonds and platinum for a new setting?

It will not be cost efficient to have a jeweler reuse the materials of the setting. Your best bet would be to try to sell the setting. DiamondBistro and the preloved section here on ps would be good places to start.
