Hi,

I am new to this as with most people on here. I have just chosen my engagement ring (thanks to my lovely bf), and have gone with a

F
VS2
0.7
Brilliant Round Solitaire Ring platinum

The price was about £3400

Is this about right or did we pay too much? The diamond has been rated XX (excellent, excellent)

We also had the option of a
E VS1
0.5 for about £2900.

I'm not sure at all about retail pricing but I can say that there is a big noticeable difference in size in person. even though it may not seem that way on paper. Personally I would go with the bigger diamond. I believe most would agree with that here. But I'm sorry I can't help with retail pricing. Congratulations :D

Congratulations on your engagement.

I love the F VS2 combo, and the 0.7 size. No need to get an E VS1 and that stone is much smaller. There will be a noticable difference between them in size, but not in color or clarity.

I personally wear a 0.63 ct stone for every day, and I love it. I save my 1.5 ct for going out.

Thanks guys. I cannot wait for my ring to be made..wont be ready till end of next month.
I was just worried about the clarity compared to a VS1, but I saw both diamonds close up and the 0.7 was quite a big bigger and I fell in love with it.

Great choice! Post some photos when you finally get it. I'd love to see it. It sounds like a beautiful stone and I hopes it all you dreamed it to be :D

If it is properly graded, VS2 will be eyeclean. In that size, Si1 and Si2 will also usually by eyeclean. There's no need to worry at all about the clarity.

thanks charmedone..I will post a photo when I get it!
