Please vote for which stone you like best. I think I know which one I am leaning towards but I’m curious what you all think.

The bubblegum pink spinel is Tanzanian with a Portuguese cut and is very glittery. It is also silky and opalescent in bright sunlight. It shifts somewhat too but is more consistently a soft pink. It does have excellent sparkle. The only downside is it shows a fisheye when bright light hits it head on. Not a huge problem.

The (very) shifty lilac/lavender/pink spinel is very pale lilac pink but it turns into a darker lavender in sunlight. It is cut as an OEC so it is very fiery and diamond-like in bright light. It can look a bit grey in dim light but it is cut really well and the pale pinkish color looks very sparkly.

The ring has a tourmaline with some wear so I purchased it intending to replace it with one of these stones.

Time to vote!

I think the yellow gold setting suits the pink spinel more. I feel the lilac would be better in white gold, but that’s just my preference!

Oh man, this is a difficult one! I went with the pink. But I don't think you could lose with either. Have fun playing!!

I voted for the lilac stone as I believe it would be nicer in the ring setting.

Personal opinion and all that.

DK :))

I have to say, what a lovely ring!

I went with the bubblegum pink spinel and it turned out great. It’s such an interesting stone and looks so much better in this floral setting than the garnet did (I purchase the ring to reuse the setting). This spinel is sort of opalescent and has a blue undertone that you can see in the photos. It’s glowy and also very sparkly depending on the light. Now I need to decide which way to wear it!

I love it, its beautiful! And I like it better with the spinel on top :kiss2:

Oh, I think that spinel just makes the whole thing pop! Tops up for me, has great movement.

It's gorgeous! You made the right call, and what a beautiful setting you found for the project!
