My ring was shipped today, and I am so excited!!! I don't want to tell you my plan to propose as I want her to be the first to know, but I will tell you that it will be romantic and a bit low key, but thought out! I purchased the following diamond and can't wait to see it in the classic single solitare setting. The setting is platinum that is 2.5mm that tapers to 2.0mm. Here are the stats:
Shape - Round Brilliant
Carat weight - 1.37
Color - E
Cut - Excellent
Clarity - VS1
Polish - Excellent
Symmetry - Excellent
Flourescence - Faint
Table - 54%
Depth - 61.2%
Crown Angle - 34%
Crown Height - 15.5%

Pavilion Angle - 40.8%
Pavlion Depth- 43.0%

This is my first diamond purchase and I probably went over board on clarity and color, and could have gone bigger, but this is going on a finger size of 4.75 so I think I balanced quality and quantity quite nicely. I hope she thinks so too.
P.S. - I don't think she would expect more than .75C as she is a bit conservative...
