Looking for a ring holder to store ring on, on nightstand.

It seems most are sort of this type. They are made of crystal and it looks like the rings slide down onto it. Is crystal the best material? I was expecting to something that was soft, like felt/etc. Is this the best option?

Here is a link to the example:

As a secondary question, anyone have a good idea for something to use to store rings, say at the gym? Just use a ring box?

Thanks!

I just keep a little tin for any stray jewelry that doesn't make it back to my jewelry boxes immediately. I don't think crystal is necessary. I have a little rubbery lotus shaped ring holder, kind of like this, that I keep a few things in/on: http://www.organizeworld.com/lotus-ring-holder.html?utm_source=googlepepla&utm_medium=adwords&id=25003420538&utm_content=pla

For the gym, I would NOT put the ring in a box. I would wear it on a necklace so it's with me. You could just put it on a chain around your neck, or get a charm holder that you can just pop the ring onto, plus I have seen these and they look cool: http://emilyc.com/

Yes, I use a crystal ring holder like that in my bathroom. I never take my rings off without putting them there, so I cannot lose them!

As far as the gym goes, it is never safe to have them off your body. So the best option is to not take them with you. And I am not wild about having rings on a chain where they are going to bang against each other. Make sure that anything that ever goes to the gym is insured!

I have crystal ring holders on my dresser. They are pretty to look at and are handy to place rings and studs that I wear everyday but not to bed. By having a designated place I know where they are and can find them in my sleepy state. They are not expensive at all.
