Hi all,

I am mostly a lurker to this forum. However I thought it is a good idea to talk about my Richard Homer recut stone. I purchased this stone sometime back from Thailand, and it had a huge window in it. I couldn''t stand that window. So I contacted wink, and got it recut by Richard. Here are the ''before and after'' pictures.

After recut.

There is huge improvement, and now the whole stone lights up. Before there was a dead area at the centre.

I had purchased a fabulous concave cut ruby ring from Wink few months ago. Thats what got me interested in this project. Here is my ruby ring. The setting is custom made by vatche (bead set).

Wow, beautiful. I enjoyed the pics of the concave cut!

I like the blue green of the tourmaline and a good ruby never fails to please the eyes.

Thanks for sharing your treasures, Anita!

I always love before/after pictures of recuts...so interesting. The change in the tourmaline is astounding...have you decided how you''re going to mount it?

The tourmaline is set in a pendant. See the attachment. It doesn''t show the true colour though. However you get some idea

Oh, yum! Thanks for sharing your two beauties with us. How big is the tourmaline?

i like the simplicity of the tourmaline setting: let''s the stone be the star.

Thanks again.
The size of the tourmaline was 7.63 carat before recut. I don''t know the exact weight loss yet. From the discussion with Richard, I reckn it imay be about 20 to 30%. The dimensions are 13.17x11.01x7.69. It is a big stone.

Those are just beautiful, Anita! The recut was a smart idea!

Simply gorgeous!!!! That ruby is magnificent! Thanks for sharing your colored beauties

Anita, just gorgeous! I love the ruby/Vatche setting, and the tourmaline is waaaaay better now that it''s been recut, good decision there! I also love that you went with YG for both settings, and the style of both settings is just fab. Thank you for sharing your pieces with us!
