Yes, I've done it, a ring and a bracelet...the plating has held up well, although I don't wear the pieces that often.

I am considering doing this. When I finally get around to it I need to post before and after photos. I have a lab pinkish purple sapphire in a yellow gold setting. I think it will look better rhodium plated.

I think it depends on your body chemistry re how your skin reacts with metals. I know that my skin eats away at plating. If you have never tried plating before I think the only way you will know if it will be stable on you is to try it. The upside of Rhodium plating is that it is nickel free and that makes it less reactive for most. The question remains how long will the coating last for each individual. (But for as long as the coating remains it should be hypoallergenic). Good luck!
