Retooled Stuller setting for Mildred

A couple of years ago I put Mildred in a Stuller temp setting. I soon wanted something different, so I started filing it down and playing with it until is was a mess.
This week my friend retooled my chewed up setting and I love it. He added engraving with a tiny fleur de lys on each side of the stone.
I am still looking for her forever setting but this one will make me happy until I do find what I want. Here are some before and afters.

Thank you! I am a wuss when it comes to custom design from scratch, so retooling a setting that I know fits and is comfortable is a nice alternative.
What I learned from this retooling is that diamonds look bigger set in a narrow, more delicate setting. It has temporarily relieved my DSS. : )

I LOVE the engraving, especially the Fleur de lys! What a difference that makes for Mildred!! She looks amazing!! I just adore that stone!!

Thank you, everyone! It’s completely changed how I feel about wearing the ring. The engraving is so delicate that in real life you just get a hint of the detail, and for some reason, the unplated gold looks more buttery than it did before. Very happy to have something I love, instead of feeling like I was wearing an albatross on my finger

He was also a doll...he did the work in a day so I would have my ring and it would be one of the first things I would see after my eye surgery. He actually delivered it to me at 7pm on his way home from the bench. I really feel like celebrating today.
