Resetting new stone in platinum setting?

Hi,

I'm thinking of resetting a new stone in an older Tacori platinum setting. I've never had a stone reset and wanted to check if there was anything I should be concerned about? Would it be something best done by a Tacori dealer, or could a competent jeweler make the switch?

I've found several threads about setting a heirloom stone in a new setting, but much less about the reverse. It would be switching a damaged diamond for a similarly sized/shaped sapphire.
