Hi Everyone:

I'm new to the community and would like to get some feedback and insight regarding selecting a center stone from Bluenile.com
I found the perfect setting for me on Blue Nile.com and would like assistance in selecting a stone within our total budget of $6,000. The price of the setting is $1850 which leaves us $4,150 to select a very nice center stone.

I am interested in a round brilliant cut and would prefer 1.0 Carat.
What would be a good clarity and color for a nice center stone within that price range? I would appreciate any positive feedback. We have decided to purchase from bluenile.com.

Please see the Setting attached:

Thank you in advance!

If you want 1 carat you are going to have to go down on the color/clarity scale. It may not even be doable in that budget.

Let me take a look and I'll get back with some suggestions.

Edit...I dont think your budget is going to do it. I cant recommend an SI stone because they dont have any pictures. You cant get an
idealscope on these either (which would be nice.)

Here is one a tad over budget...

Under budget...

Thank you everyone for the feedback. I didn't assume I would have to go that much lower in color and clarity. I have also been exploring cushion cut stones in that setting as well. But I have learned that it may be difficult to select a cushion "sight unseen".

I really prefer the Blue nile setting at $1,850

Realistically to hit the 1+ carat mark you're going to be looking at around J color SI1/SI2 if you want eye clean. You could go up in color and down in clarity, or vice versa, or you could go under the carat mark and save yourself from the 1 carat price jump and get a 0.9 carat H/I SI1 possibly VS2 for around 4100 on bluenile. However even then it will be tough to find one that's well cut and sufficiently eye clean to your standards without images. The HCA score is pretty much all you have to go on.
