Replacing diamond in engagement ring, What size?? HELP!!

Hello,

First time posting. So I just bought this Verragio engagement ring and it came with a princess cut cubic zirconia mounted in it from the jeweler. The CZ measures 5.9mmx5.9mm and is about 1.25CT. Basically my question is, how close to that size must the diamond that I replace it with be? Does it have to be close to the same dimensions as the current CZ or can i get away with putting say a 1CT 5.25mmx5.25mmf princess cut in it? Am i limited to the size of the diamond i can choose or is anything possible?

Hi There,

You picked a beautiful setting. The ring will look stunning. There is always a bit of wiggle room with any setting, how much room, your jeweller will have to have the ring in hand to know. I've been told from having my own settings opened up for larger stones that it's easier to do with larger stones but a bit trickier with smaller stones. Best thing to do is take it in & ask. Take it to a jeweller that sells Verragio. If they say no go...then ask if the ring can be sent to Verragio to have it altered it for you. Might not cost that much & it will (you hope) be done well.
