I hope you ordered it st least to see!

I'll be darned!!

I'm going to have to find my hat, so I can eat it

Please take photos when you get it- do you have a UV light?

I will be able to pick it up within 7-10 days and I will be sure to post pics once it comes. I don't have a great uv light, but it will work. I was assured it does fluoresce red, but I am anxious to see if it actually does.

Very cool.

Looking forward to seeing pictures.

I'm intrigued!

Omg this is so very cool. I would love to see this! And Kenny I love your collection. I've been a silent admirer for a long time!

oh amazing. and a D too! Thats one special stone if it does. I wouldnt get my hopes up, as i wouldnt want to get disappointed. but they are already high for you! lol.

Even if it does fluoresce, would it do so under a consumer UV lamp? If so, that would probably be the coolest (and one of the rarest?) diamonds around.

I can hardly wait to see this baby! Wowza! :appl: :appl: :appl:

My diamond glowed under a $10 uv light from Spencer's I got last Halloween!

It should do it under a normal black light, like any other stone with fluor. I'm curious to see if it has a noticeable effect outdoors. Now THAT would be something special. Especially considering the d should have too many other tones to modify it.

I thought that the red fluorescence wavelength was too short to be visible under a consumer lamp/light. I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that a higher quality lamp would have to be used.

I think you may be right...does anyone know where I can get an inexpensive shorteave (254nm) uv light?

I am very anxious to see it in person and see if it is what I hope it to be. Trying not to get my hopes up too much lol

I don't think its quite that scientific. I think its just what color it returns under a UV light. I don't think they test it under any other special lighting conditions. Like Kenny's pink one. OE stones that fluoresce yellow in black light. I dont think this would requite any different

It doesn't matter the UV light. There is only one type of UV light. The colour emitted is a result of electron movement in the atoms-the degree of movement (in response to the UV) affects the colour you see. In simple terms. A basic UV light should work fine.

Boring chemist over and out.

wowza!!! cant wait to see it!

Did you decide to get it?

I cannot wait to see this stone!!!

Wow! I can't wait!

Did you get the stone? I'm v interested in the outcome of this.

WOW I can't wait to see this!

May I call shotgun if you decide to pass on it? (I apologize in advance if that is rude to say or not allowed around these parts...just a custom I learned on other forums--please feel fee to let me know if that is the case).

Any update here?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Funny this pops up today. I happen to be editing a program on this subject as a whole. The world reknown Hope Diamond fluores' red.

I have a micropave band that has two stones that fluoresce red-ish.

Pictures!

I also have pave' rings that have stones that fluoresce red and orange-red, as well as yellow and blue. I use a Stinkfinder blacklight from the pet store. I don't have any way to get pictures.

I'd be very curious to see what it looks like! And Kenny, I am MADLY in love with your collection!

any update?
