Recreating my setting for a bigger stone help

I wanted to get some opinions from the experts :wink2:

I just purchased a 2.22cr RB (thanks again for all of the help :twirl: ) we did spend more on the diamond that we had originally planned. In addition I do really enjoy my current setting, but it will not fit the larger stone (my current diamond is 1.4ct).

Here are a few options that I was hoping could work out
1. recreate the setting using my side stones, except instead of the melee in the halo I'd like to go with .02 diamonds. Do you think this will look good with the side princess channel set stones ( i would do a little less metal for the channel)? What about the melee on the sides and the W - do you think it will still flow?

2. cut out the diamond mount (halo and the W), recreate that with .02 diamonds in the halo and smaller pave on the sides and reattach. Not sure if I will be able to see the "Piecing together".

3. create a similar look setting using my diamonds (at least the princess)

Any idea of how much either of these options could cost? other than the .02 diamonds? Any suggestions for jewelers in MD area?

I don't really want to purchase another setting bc my wedding band also matches.

Please forgive the blurry pictures - i tried my best. The side diamonds are princess channel set - not an eternity, but pretty far down. Total weight is 2.5 ct

Thank for your help!!!

Is your e-ring by a specific designer or was it custom-made? Because if it is by a specific designer, I'd just try to find the same setting and buy it again for your new stone if that's what you want. If it was custom-made, I'd go back to whoever made it and ask what the best course of action is. None of your options will be particularly cheap.

I bought the setting at a jewelry show - vendor was from CA, not sure if i can even find him.

Gabriel & Co and Beverley K will be the most cost effective. Resetting the tiny diamonds is not cost effective, unfortunately. Not sure if Quest jewelers can rework it - you can email them and ask...

Re-using your melee is not going to be a cost-saver, the costs in pave settings are mostly the labor.

So, I'd (1) take a lot of pictures and measurements of your current setting.

(2) Find a new jeweler to create a similar setting, showing him/her the current one.

(3) Sell your current setting (with or without center stone).

(4) Use proceeds of sale of setting to help fund new one, but expect to shell out for a new setting even with these funds.
