Real or Fake Tiffany Legacy ring??

I was wondering if some of you experts/owners out there could help verify if this Tiffany & Co. Legacy ring is the real thing or not? Most of the images I have seen include the bead set diamonds on the 4 arms which extend from the ring up to the corners of the diamonds (and this one does not).

Could someone tell me how many bead-set diamonds should be on the Tiffany & Co. Legacy ring?

I am no expert but something looks wrong with the ring you posted. Where is the pave on the basket? The pave work also doesn't look great.

I'm pretty sure that the real thing has diamonds on the basket. The one that you have does not.

ETA...I was tying at the same time as charmy. Also, I was going to add that those look like tool marks on the basket. Those are usually polished out.

the one you posted is pretty, but it doesn''t look like a Tiffany up close. It seems bulkier, is missing the pave on the basket, and the pave looks different....but I''m no expert..

Ditto... The first thing I noticed was that the shoulders don't curve into the head in yours. But I'm no expert either!

The seller on ebay was trying to pass it off as an authentic Tiffany & Co. Legacy ring...

So, I purchased it off ebay with a 3 day return policy and paypal protection policy.

Im not sure if it has changed over the years or not though...also not sure if Tiffany''s changed the style of the ring in the last few years or not (although the diamond specialist at Tiffany''s which I spoke with informed me that it hasn''t).

but paypal (although a pain to deal with from what I''ve heard) does have buyer protection.

Ouch... so sorry this happened to you s00n2be... but, on the bright side, at least you''re finding out soon enough to fix it. It sucks that there are so many unscrupulous sellers (with fantastic feedback to boot) on ebay.

Best of luck with the return process and I really hope everything goes smoothly. Please fill us in on the details and if you have any difficulties so we can all learn what to expect...

tiffany has not changed the style of the legacy. I would see if the seller has shipped the ring and get the ball rolling that you want a full refund b/c the ring is misrepresented. Maybe they will just refund it right away and you won''t have to deal with ebay/paypal. If they won''t, then you''re going to have to file a claim with ebay first and they require a certain amount of days for you to work it out with the seller. Best of luck!
