I FINALLY found a jeweler that can fix my ring. A small local jeweler here that does custom work that has a laser (only 1 of 3 in town) looked at it and decided that laser was not the way to go. He WILL have to rebuild the channel walls and he's going to somehow lay on some gold on top so that it is not noticeable. He said if he just lasered gold on top that it would show. He said it's going to be very thick and beautiful. The diamonds are not sitting right that are in there now because of the channel walls. Rebuilding it will fix that. It's going to cost $250 to do that. But I'm also going to have to buy another Platinum head to go on there because the one she put on there was a pre-notched one and she filed it down or something and there's not enough left to work with and that's another $$. I picked a custom head out this time and that's $450.
He had a gorgeous gorgeous shop, you walk in and just drool. 90% of the things in his shop are custom made. We spent an hour just talking. He said he has thought about starting a class in jewelry making and I begged him to do it, that I would be the first one to sign up. I make stained glass and I know I could learn to make jewelry.
He loves single cut stones too.
I can't wait to see my ring. I'm glad I found a new Jeweler to work on my things. I'll never go back to that other person.
