The Idealscope looks good to me, but I am still a newbie.

I'd appreciate any feedback!

Yes, the IS looks ok, but I'd keep searching for a GIA XXX instead of a 'good' cut. They are out there!
You would be amazed at what a difference there is between excellent and good... and in "diamondland" CUT IS KING!

I totally agree with cut being king, but this diamond confuses me. It scores nicely on the HCA (1.6) and appears to be a much better than "good" diamond based on the cut ratios..I think : )

Something's off with this image. Shouldn't there be whites around the edge of the diamond?

Nothing's off with the image. The stone has a painted girdle as suggested by GIA's comment on the report. This along with the thick girdle brought the cut grade down.

I see. What are effects of painted girdle may I ask?

Basically, Ideal Scope checks out, though I specifically wanted an ASET for this one, guess i didn't make that clear. Anyway, I suggested this one as it is very discounted for its characteristics, but if you bought it as an Eightstar you would be paying a premium! You need to ask the staff at JA if it looks less bright compared to a traditional diamond.

Will do, thanks!

From James Allen,

"The gemologist confirmed that this diamond offers great fire, brilliance, and scintillation so it's going to be incredibly bright (regardless of brillianteering). You should have no concerns with the beauty and brightness that this diamond offers"

Hold expires shortly, so is it worth seeing in person?
