Ask for photographs so you can get an idea of the faceting pattern and see how this Radiant looks, also as I think I have mentioned, ASET images are very helpful if available. You can''t tell much by numbers, so see if you can get some photos.

There is a photo is supplied, and it looks pretty good to me-i tried to post it, but am having problems. iits not outside the size limits or anything-any suggestions?
And they do have the aset images etc aswell for this one.
Instructions on adding images??

the faq section has many of the common subjects together so they are easy to find.

Yep, thankyou for that, very helpful!
I have attached the photo now - although sice have realised the symmetry is onli listed as good, not v. good or excellent, although as Lorelei and others have told me, numbers aren''t everythin with fancies-which makes my life alot harder!

I''ve attached the photo of the stone, and would love any feedback/crtiques? I''ll also attach the ideal scope and aset images below, if i can figure how (excuse my novice behaviour!)

Sorry, last post didn''t work, will try again

Sorry guys! the first one worked, but think will have to read the tutorial again so can upload idealscope and aset images, anyway, would apprecuate your thoughts on the photo..

I am no Radiant expert, but I know the type I like and that one is it!!! Looks good to me!! Also did you want such high clarity? You could drop that and still have a very clean diamond, but this is a personal preference and that Radiant looks great.

ETA - is it VVS or VS clarity?

Hi lorelei, thanks for the prompt feedback! It is G, VVS1. following are the other specs:
Shape: Radiant
. Carat: 0.44
. Depth %: 68.9
. Table %: 63
. Girdle: Medium to Thick
. Measurements: 4.68-4.05X2.79
. Polish: Very Good
. Symmetry: Good
. Culet: None
. Fluorescence: None

Now I''m no diamond expert at all, so what do you think about the idealscope etc? If there''s anyone who reads this who can let me know what I''m looking at?!

Lorelei, in your opinion, what would you say to pay for this stone?

The ASET image is the most informative with fancy shapes, so that is the image to concentrate on most.

Here is the thread explaining how ASET works.

https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/why-we-prefer-aset-to-ideal-scope-with-fancy-shapes.73949/

Basically red colour in ASET denotes the most intense light return, green is less intense, but still fine in fancy shapes. I have copied some text from John and pasted it here, so we can see at a glance what we are looking at.

Light return (red/green): In fancies we can expect more green than we’re accustomed to seeing in rounds. In fact, there is frequently as much green as red. A balance of red and green is desirable. In some fancy shapes it may be possible to have slightly more red than green, in others it may not be (see footnote*). Motion is more important to performance in fancy shapes than in rounds, and these red and green areas work together to create contrast when the diamond moves.

Obstruction/Shadow (blue): We will see far less blue in fancies than in a round. This is logical since a round brilliant's spoke-like pattern of red (intense light) to blue (light from different, higher angles) drives the vivid on-off sparkle we associate with rounds. Fancy shapes do not have the same contrast in their sparkle, though the princess comes closest. Fancies rely more on movement than rounds for performance precisely because the contrast patterns are more subtle. Look for the balance of red/green to be partnered with areas of blue and small areas of leakage.

Leakage (black): Leakage is black in a non-backlit ASET. The areas are, logically, smaller than they would be in a backlit reflector (where they appear white). In fancy shapes leakage can help create contrast but should be limited.

Also I would use the search function to see the price of similar diamonds Jane, but I know Whiteflash price their diamonds as competitively as possible, so no worries there.
