Radiant Diamonds

Hi all,

I have been searching high and low for a pricess cut diamond and recently came across the concept of radiants. What is your opinion of radiants? They sound like princess cuts that are just less prone to breaking. Don''t they look exactly the same once they are set?

Hi GE,

NOOO, Princess and Radiant cut diamonds are VERY different! Princess cuts generally have a very distinct ''X'' pattern in addition to having pointed corners. Radiants usually have a ''cracked ice'' look (without a specific pattern) to them in addition to having the cut corners.

You will want to see some of both cuts in order to decide which you like best. Personally, I have a Radiant and absolutely love it. There are many on this forum that have Princess cuts which are beautiful as well.

Icelady is right, princess and radiant cuts look VERY different. In fact, they look so different that a person can be a fan of one of these cuts but not the other. Be sure to look at both and compare so you can decide for yourself which would make for a more beautiful eng. ring.
