If I do an Asscher cut on the AGA as an emarald (no pre-set for Asscher) will the results be fairly accurate. Barring that, what are the preferred ranges for an excellent or very good cut in the asscer
Mixed bag with Asschers. I do not have enough experience with them to tell you what does and doesn't work in Asschers. Just like the rest, there are certain combo's of crown/pavilion angles that produce hella brilliance in them and then there are duds, same with emerald cuts as well. Only way to tell is to call em in for a physical.
A lot of vendors iv talked to say the same thing as Rhino on asschers to find one that combines the 10 mile deep look with a ton of brilliance and fire takes a lot of mk2 eyeball time and weeding thru a lot of stones.
There are a lot more duds out there than good cut ones.
Thanks for the info guys. I guess the only way is to ask for pictures and threaten immediate return if they send me a "dud."
EP6585 - I still haven't decided between the Asscher, Emerald, and Jubilee. One thing that's keeping me away from the Jubilee is the lack of availablity. Jonathon at GoG only had one that MIGHT be what I need. Plus, I can definitely get a bigger stone in Asscher or emerald, and the g/f has hinted that she really likes the emerald cut, so I have to give that a bit more consideration.
If you can get a nice Asscer, and that's what she likes, it seems like a no-brainer to me, even though you have so many lovely choices.
I seem to remember that NiceIce says on their website that they only have a few Asschers up, but that they have access to a lot of really great ones, so they might be a good place to ask for help in this. I'm not sure what other vendors might deal with them very much, since I eventually deicded to go with a round instead.
You forgot to turn your head before you coughed....oh wait, those are just fingerprints on my screen from trying to reach in and grab the beautiful things I see on this site!
I've been toalking to the guys at WHiteflash about a 1.04ca Asscher they have. They are going to send me a picture as soon as their photographer gets back. Asscher 1.04

Symmetry: Good bugs me on that stone a asscher is a stones that thrives on symmetry.
The ideal scope image doesnt look that great either.
Contact niceice I havent been impressed with the asschers that whiteflash has up right now.
NiceIce doesn't seem to have the selection that I am really looking for. However, I did find this one on Whiteflash. I guess my only worry might be the I color in a step cut. You guys think that would be too yellow?
niceice will hunt high and low for a diamond for you tell them what your looking for and they will find it.
Something like 60% of their sales are doing that for their clients.
They wont sell anything they wouldnt be proud to wear :}
Rhino @ goodoldgold and the whiteflash crew could do the same but I lean towards niceice for this kind of stuff.
For an rb its a toss up amoung the vendors but they seem to have more time and get more of a thrill from the hunt in situations like this.
